Watcher of the Skies The Story of Alfred Barrett Biggs, Pioneer in Astronomy, Seismology and Telecommunications

Viewing the 1974 transit of Venus at Campbell Town, Tasmania, in the company of a group of American astronomers served to inspire Alfred Barrett Biggs' life long passion for science. Acknowledged as one of the founding fathers of seismology (the study of earthquakes) in Australia, in his later years he also became popularly known as Launceston's Astronomer Royal.
